MUTEC introduces Prime Select cables

MUTEC GmbH, manufacturer of professional audio technology for studio and high-end applications, announces the availability of its own Prime Select cables for the transmission of digital audio and clock signals. These special cables are designed for use with MUTEC's clock generators, re-clockers and audio interfaces.

All Prime Select cables have been tested by MUTEC engineers on MUTEC equipment for compatibility and quality. The coaxial cables, which are handmade in Germany, are based on technically relevant properties that can be reproduced at any time. They combine high-quality cable material with first-class connectors from specialists such as Neutrik or Damar & Hagen. MUTEC Prime Select cables meet the exact specifications required for each application. They guarantee precise and fast transmission of digital audio and clock signals.

Two different series are available: PSC 75 with 75 Ohm characteristic impedance and PSC 50 with 50 Ohm characteristic impedance. A correct and constant impedance of 50 or 75 ohms between input and output is crucial for the transmission quality of an S/P-DIF signal or the 10 MHz reference clock. In addition, reflections in the cable must be avoided, which can lead to a delayed and discontinuous delivery of the data packets (= jitter). The required wave impedance can be achieved with a suitable MUTEC cable from the Prime Select series.
