MUTEC
PSC 75
The right 75-ohm digital cable
The right digital cable with a wave resistance of 75 ohm
The MUTEC PSC 75 series consists of three coaxial cables which guarantee a wave impedance of 75 ohms. They are characterized by different connector combinations for specific application scenarios: RCA/RCA, RCA/BNC and BNC/BNC.
These cables are ideally suited for the transmission of 10 MHz clock signals between a reference clock generator of the MUTEC REF10 series and external devices as well as for the transmission of digital audio signals (S/P-DIF or AES3id) or AES11id reference synchronizations.

Correctly connected: The 75 Ohm version
The technically correct connection cable is a very important factor in being able to experience the quality of MUTEC components optimally . Therefore MUTEC has decided to develop its own cables.
With the Prime Select cables, you can be sure that the devices of MUTEC - but also the components of other manufacturers - develop their full performance potential - All coaxial cables of the Prime Select category have been tested by MUTEC engineers during development on MUTEC devices for compatibility and quality
Mutec offers three connection variants with 75 Ohm characteristic impedance in the series: RCA/RCA, RCA/BNC, BNC/BNC. This means that the right model can be found for every application.
Serious craftsmanship
Handmade in Germany Prime Select cables do not follow any esoteric voodoo philosophy, but are based on anytime reproducible, technically relevant features - just as you would expect from MUTEC. They combine high quality cable material with first class connectors and meet exactly the specifications required for the respective application. Mutec's developers have taken great care to ensure that the transmission quality remains constant, e.g. that the rectangular signals retain their shape and do not get abraded. This MUTEC Prime Select cable guarantees the complete, accurate and fast transmission of clock signals.
75 Ohm characteristic impedance
A constant characteristic impedance of 75 Ohm* between input and output is particularly important for the transmission quality of an S/P-DIF signal or the 10 MHz reference clock. This is determined not only by the cable material, but also by the connector. Both must provide the required 75 ohms at all times. Reflections in the cable, which can lead to uneven transmission of the data packets (=jitter), must be avoided. This problem can be avoided by using a MUTEC cable. A surge impedance of 75 Ohm is guaranteed.
Attention *: For the correct connection of devices with 50 Ohm impedance in the reference clock transmission range we offer a separate cable series: PSC 50 BNC/BNC.
Triple shielded
The cable material of these MUTEC Prime Select cables is uniquely triple shielded - with two robust AL/PTE foils and a dense, tinned copper braid. This results lowest attenuation values and large area shielding of electrical interference fields. With a diameter of 8 mm, the MUTEC PSC is slim, flexible and yet robust. The conductor is an oxygen-free, silver-plated solid wire with minimal tolerances. This is embedded in a smoothed, gas-foamed insulation.
High quality connectors with 75 Ohm
The RCA versions use high quality connectors. They feature hard gold-plated contacts, precise workmanship with unique chuck type relief and guarantee the required wave resistance of 75 ohms due to their design.
MUTEC uses the BNC connectors from a German specialist manufacturer with decades of experience. The mechanically extremely robust all-metal connectors are hard gold-plated in the mating area, have a constant contact pressure over the entire service life, have the required wave impedance of 75 ohms and have low return loss.
PSC 75 RCA/RCA
The coaxial cable for the S/P-DIF interface with 75 Ohm characteristic impedance. One RCA connector per side. Suitable for stacking MC Series devices tor connecting to/from external components: DAC, streamer, CD player.
PSC 75 RCA/BNC
The coaxial cable for the S/P-DIF interface with an impedance of 75 ohms. The cable is terminated with a RCA and a BNC connector. It can be used to connect MC Series devices to each other or to connect to/from external components such as a DAC, streamer or CD player. The cable can be connected directly to the MC3+ USB, which has a BNC coaxial S/P-DIF connector. This eliminates the need for a BNC/RCA adapter. This eliminates one sound attenuating contact point.
PSC 75 BNC/BNC
Coaxial cable with 75 ohm characteristic impedance for 10 MHz clock or word clock interfaces. One BNC connector on each end. Suitable for connecting an MC3+/MC3+ USB interface to a REF series reference clock generator. Or to connect such a REF10 NANO / REF10 / REF10 SE120 directly to the 10 MHz input with 75 Ohm impedance of a compatible device such as a DAC, streamer, network switch or CD player. In professional studios, a MUTEC PSC 75 BNC/BNC is used for word clock cabling.
