Fireface UCX II
40-channel, 192 kHz portable
USB audio interface
The Fireface UCX II is the ultimate in pro audio solutions, offering unparalleled integration in an ultra-compact format for studio and live use. RME's long tradition of ultra-compact high-end interfaces continues with this impressive device, which combines features, functionality and quality in a compact enclosure that other manufacturers require several rack spaces for. This compact audio system transfers analogue and digital audio data from virtually any source into Windows and Mac computers. It has numerous unique features, well-thought-out setup dialogs, an outstanding and highly flexible mixer and monitoring solution, professional DSP effects, and excellent analogue circuits with selected digital converters. Using the Fireface UCX II is fast, convenient and efficient.
With up to 20 channels of recording and 20 channels of playback, SteadyClock FS, high-performance microphone inputs, built-in parametric EQ, USB direct recording and full stand-alone functionality, the brand-new Fireface UCX II is the epitome of freedom, flexibility and passion. No other audio interface currently offers more connectivity and functionality in a half-rack format.
All unit settings can be controlled directly from the front panel using a rotary encoder and several buttons, providing convenient and direct access to all functions. Four keys and the rotary knob, a high-resolution and clear colour display and a well thought-out menu structure allow the user to quickly change and configure the unit's settings. In addition, the internal memory allows the permanent storage of six different device states. This allows the Fireface UCX II to operate completely independently, without the need for a computer. In stand-alone mode, it can be transformed into completely different devices at the touch of a button.

DURec Direct USB Recording
With the digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) function, any input or output of the Fireface UCX II can be recorded directly to a USB storage device. DURec uses the onboard DSP to allow stand-alone operation without a computer. Applications include stand-alone field recordings, live and rehearsal room recordings, or playback of live recordings for virtual soundchecks.
- Multitrack recording: Record all analogue and digital inputs and outputs of your RME audio interface simultaneously. The number of channels you can record depends on the sample rate.
- Standalone operation: DURec works independently from a computer. This means you can record without a PC or Mac connected.
- Easy to use: DURec is simple and intuitive to use. You can start, stop and play back your recordings using the buttons on the audio interface or the optional ARC USB remote control.
- Virtual soundcheck: Play back previously recorded tracks through the audio interface's outputs for a virtual soundcheck.
- Live recording: Record live concerts, band rehearsals or impromptu jam sessions directly to a USB storage device.
- 24-bit WAV format: Record in high-quality 24-bit WAV format.
DURec is a powerful tool for musicians, engineers and producers who want an easy and reliable way to create multitrack recordings.
Femtoseconds for the timing
With SteadyClock FS, the Fireface UCX II features RME's latest clock and jitter suppression technology. Based on a femtosecond clock, SteadyClock FS reduces the intrinsic jitter when converting from and to analogue across all digital formats to an all-time low.
TotalMix FX & DigiChecK
The Fireface UCX II is equipped with the TotalMix FX DSP mixer, which offers extensive routing and monitoring options, as well as the DIGICheck analyser, which measures and analyses digital input data in both directions with the highest precision.
