The mobile RAVENNA solution
The combination of RME's proven drivers (Mac/Windows) and the RAVENNA implementation of DirectOut provides a reliable and flexible computer audio interface on the network. TotalMix FX allows not only flexible routing, but also mixing as many independent submixes as outputs are available. The high quality headphone output provides fast playback of all audio channels or can be used as a line output for an additional analog stereo mixdown.
TotalMix FX and TotalMix Remote
Like all current RME interfaces the Digiface series also features the powerful digital real-time mixer TotalMix FX. It can perform virtually any mixing and routing operation with all inputs and playback tracks on any hardware outputs.
Various functions are included in the mixer for example by a Control Room section with talkback, main/phones, fader groups, mute groups, complete remote controllability via Mackie and OSC protocol, and much more. The Digiface series does not support DSP-based effects (FX), such as EQ or reverb.
TotalMix Remote, extends the power of the RME interfaces by enabling remote control via iOS, PC or Mac. With a straightforward setup process - you simply enter the IP address of the computer you want to control with TotalMix Remote - and instantly every aspect of TotalMix FX on a host system can be customized as you walk around the studio with your tablet, regardless of where the control room is located in your facility.
Ravenna & MADI
RME has made the two BNC sockets for Wordclock I/O switchable to MADI I/O for up to 64 channels. The sum of Ravenna and MADI, or 128 channels, is transferred via USB 3.0 and managed via the included RAVENNA web server or RME's TotalMix FX.
On the network side, the interface features a full-featured RAVENNA stack with AES67 and ST2110-30/31 support and redundant audio-over-IP streaming according to ST2022-7. Furthermore, the interface can also be used as a mobile 64-channel RAVENNA/MADI converter without USB connection to a computer. The coaxial MADI I/O connectors can also be configured as word clock sync I/O.
