Subminiature Lavalier Microphone

You've never experienced a subminiature like this!

The 6060 and 6061 CORE subminiature lavalier microphones are just 3mm in diameter, available in normal and high SPL versions, but with the same performance as the larger, award-winning DPA microphones. They more than make up for their small size with clarity, consistency and durability - three important qualities. With the more compact design of CORE by DPA technology, DPA ensures that you don't have to compromise between sound and aesthetics.

  • Incredible 3mm CORE capsule technology
  • PVD coated stainless steel body
  • Famous DPA sound in a 60% smaller body
  • Modular adapter system fits most professional wireless systems

Compact CORE technology in a 3 mm housing

CORE by DPA is the powerful new technology behind DPA's miniature microphones. DPA's engineers have minimised distortion. The result is a clearer, more open sound at all volume levels, from whispers to screams.

Meanwhile, DPA has scaled down the great CORE technology to fit into 3mm subminiature microphones. This means that, despite their small size, the performance of the 6060 CORE subminiature products is comparable to that of the world's most popular 5mm miniature capsules. These subminiature microphones have a lower noise floor than other 3mm capsules on the market and are better able to handle high sound pressure levels (SPL) without distortion. Technically, the 6061 has a noise floor of only 26 dB(A), which is comparable to DPA's 5mm miniature capsules.

Sophisticated new microphone design

The tiny capsule has a cap that can be removed for cleaning. Then replace it firmly on the microphone body until you hear and feel a click. The cap supplied is sized to fit the low-boost grid of our 5 mm versions. Both the microphone itself and the cap are made from stainless steel and have been PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coated for extra durability. This makes them resistant to high temperatures, shock and abrasion. The coating also gives the whole microphone a subtle matt finish. The headband looks smaller and less obtrusive.

The cable is often the weak point in this type of microphone, so we use the same cable size (Ø 1.6mm) and robust quality as our 5mm microphones. The cables are extremely durable, do not tangle and have a Kevlar core to withstand heavy pulling. A strain relief is built into the microphone body to reinforce the construction.

The design of the cable, capsule and boom makes the microphone immune to noise-sensitive wireless devices. The microphone is usually connected to a wireless beltpack. We offer a wide range of adapters to connect to a variety of wireless transmitters. When used with an adapter, the connection is made via our MicroDot connector. We also offer hard-wired connectors that are compatible with the most popular systems from manufacturers such as Shure and Sennheiser. All our connectors feature a robust strain relief. It's the only 3mm microphone that delivers the DPA sound quality you've come to love.

Certified according to IP58

The CORE subminiatures are certified to IP58. This durability is achieved through a number of defence mechanisms:

  • Double gold plating of the membrane
  • Water-repellent nano-coating of cover and housing
  • Hermetic sealing of the sensitive amplifier in the core of the microphone
