Coming soon: Sibelius for Android

Sibelius for Android is now officially in beta. Starting today, you can sign up for early access to the beta build in the Google Play Store and send your feedback to the Sibelius team.

This marks a multi-year chapter of innovation to bring Sibelius to all mobile devices. As with Sibelius on iOS (AVID's free Sibelius app launching in 2021), users will now have a consistent experience across apps and devices. This is a huge milestone for the team and brings Sibelius to millions more musicians around the world. To kick things off, AVID releasing a public beta that's fully featured but may be a little rough around the edges. As with all beta software, we recommend that you back up your device, apps, data, and especially your Sibelius scores before you start, just to be on the safe side.

To sign up for the beta program, fill out the form below and AVID will provide you with access - please be sure to include the email address you use to sign in to the Google Play Store. Once you've signed up and AVID has approved your access, you'll be able to download Sibelius to your Android devices.

What to expect when using the app

The new Android app is essentially the same as the iOS app, allowing you to edit existing scores, review scores that others have shared with you, create new music directly on your phone or tablet, and seamlessly switch between composing on your mobile device and composing on your desktop. However, you will find a few things that are different from our iOS app, such as creating a new score and handling your files. This is due to the differences between the Android and iOS ecosystems.

There are nearly 8,000 different types of Android-compatible devices-all with slightly different screen sizes, processors, RAM, and so on. We strive to make Sibelius consistent across all devices, so please leave feedback as you find it using the feedback form below.

AVID wants to hear from you

While this software is in beta, AVID really wants to hear about your experience, so they've created a simple form for you to submit feedback. Your feedback will go directly to the Sibelius development and product management teams, so please don't be shy. The form is also linked to the Google Play Store.
