M-1620 Pro D
High-end 16-channel A/D,
20-channel D/A converter
with ADAT, MADI and Dante
The M-1620 Pro D is the ultimate solution for converting 16 analog line levels (switchable up to +24 dBu, per channel) to and from MADI, ADAT, and Dante network technology. It can also convert from and to digital sources, with separate coax and SFP MADI, ADAT, or Dante serving as sources. Furthermore, two independent headphone outputs are available for monitoring. All components are housed in a 19" case with a newly designed front panel that combines individual level meters with a display. This is an indispensable addition for immersive audio installations, but also a versatile extension for any audio network.
Two network connections provide unparalleled redundancy or allow daisy chaining on the same network. Wordclock BNC and coaxial MADI connections are seamlessly integrated, and optical MADI can be added via an optional SFP module—perfect for applications requiring a high channel count at high sample rates. The channels of both MADI connectors can be individually routed to Dante.
The 2.54-inch TFT display on the front panel is the gateway to controlling all device statuses and accessing all functions with ease. The integrated routing matrix allows you to route all analog inputs directly to the headphone output as well as all digital signals and network streams with incredible speed. This means you can easily and effectively solve any signal, clock, connection, or other problems!
In & Out
With up to 32 channels, full-featured MADI I/Os, intelligent channel routing, and innovative ease of use, the brand-new M-1620 Pro Series represents the state of the art in exceptional audio performance. Two headphone outputs are also provided for monitoring. All components are housed in a 19" chassis with a newly designed front panel that combines individual level meters with a display. An indispensable addition for immersive audio installations, but also a versatile extension for any audio network.
Easy to use - flexible and reliable in every way
RME sets the standard for reliability and equips the M-1620 Pro D with built-in redundancy. In addition to the internal AC power supply, there are two network and two MADI connections as well as a monitored DC input. A unique system clearly signals when a problem occurs, ensuring smooth operation. Full standalone capability allows users to adjust settings directly on the unit for quick changes or to recall entire user-defined presets.
By popular demand, the M-1620 Pro D offers 64 channels of Dante connectivity, allowing direct connection to other audio devices via standard Ethernet switches. If redundancy is not required, the unit itself can act as a switch, allowing multiple Dante devices to be daisy-chained. Audinate's Dante Virtual Soundcard™ (license not included) allows users to record and play back up to 64 channels of the M-1620's analog and digital inputs and outputs on their computer.
Add additional analog and AVB inputs and outputs to any MADI device
With the M-1620 Pro D, the aliasing filters of the converter can be manually configured to achieve optimum impulse and frequency response. The jitter of the digital input signals is effectively reduced by SteadyClock FS. Separate Word Clock BNC and coaxial MADI connectors, as well as optional optical MADI connections via an SFP module, allow for easy integration into an existing infrastructure.
Plug&Play - Fast userinteraction
All device statuses can be controlled directly via the front panel using rotary encoders and several buttons, providing convenient and direct access to all functions. In addition, the RME network devices can be controlled remotely via a web interface or any network connection (incl. WLAN). This includes the quick creation of gain groups, the activation/deactivation of phantom power, and the routing of signals to the headphone output for monitoring purposes.
The integrated routing matrix enables fast routing of any analog input as well as all digital signals and Dante streams directly to the headphone output. This allows signal, clock, connection or other problems to be solved easily and efficiently.
