M-1620 Pro
High-end 16-channel A/D,
20-channel D/A converter
with ADAT, MADI and Milan-compatible AVB
The M-1620 Pro is the ultimate solution for converting 16 analog line levels to and from digital sources. It supports separate coax and SFP MADI, ADAT, or AVB (Dante on the M-1620 Pro D) as sources, giving you unparalleled flexibility. Two headphone outputs are also available for monitoring. All components are housed in a 19" case with a newly designed front panel that combines individual level meters with a display. This is an indispensable addition for immersive audio installations, but also a versatile extension for any audio network.
Two network connections provide unparalleled redundancy or allow daisy chaining on the same network (Dante model only). The integrated Wordclock BNC and coaxial MADI connections are the optimal choice for your needs. For even greater flexibility, you can add optical MADI via an optional SFP module—perfect for applications requiring a high channel count at high sample rates. You can even route the channels of both MADI connectors individually to AVB.
The 2.54-inch TFT display on the front panel is the gateway to controlling all device statuses and accessing all functions with ease. The integrated routing matrix allows you to route all analog inputs directly to the headphone output as well as all digital signals and network streams with incredible speed. This means you can easily and effectively solve any signal, clock, connection, or other problems!
In & Out
The brand new M-1620 Pro series is the state of the art in exceptional audio performance, with up to 32 channels, fully featured MADI I/Os, intelligent channel routing, and innovative ease of use. Two headphone outputs are also available for monitoring. All components are housed in a 19" chassis with a newly designed front panel that combines individual level meters with a display. This is an indispensable addition for immersive audio installations, but also a versatile extension for any audio network.
Easy to use - flexible and reliable in every way
RME sets the standard for reliability and equips the M-1620 Pro with built-in redundancy. In addition to the internal AC power supply, there are two network and two MADI connections as well as a monitored DC input. A unique system clearly signals when a problem occurs, ensuring smooth operation. Full stand-alone capability allows users to adjust settings directly on the unit for quick changes or to recall entire user-defined presets.
The Milan-certified model transmits and receives up to 128 channels at 48 kHz (96 @ 96 kHz, 64 @ 192 kHz) with precise, fixed latency over a deterministic network. It displays its status and configurable options to controllers via the open IEEE 1722.1 (ATDECC) standard.
Provide every MADI device with additional analog and AVB inputs and outputs.
With the M-1620 Pro, the converter's aliasing filters can be manually configured to achieve optimum impulse and frequency response. The jitter of the digital input signals is effectively reduced by SteadyClock FS. Separate Word Clock BNC and coaxial MADI connectors, as well as optional optical MADI connections via an SFP module, allow for easy integration into an existing infrastructure.
Plug & Play - fast interaction with the user
All device statuses can be controlled directly via the front panel using rotary encoders and several buttons, providing convenient and direct access to all functions. In addition, the RME AVB devices can be controlled remotely via a web interface or any network connection (incl. W-LAN), allowing quick creation of gain groups, activation/deactivation of phantom power, and routing of signals to the headphone output for monitoring purposes.
The integrated routing matrix allows fast routing of any analog input, as well as all digital signals and AVB streams, directly to the headphone output. This allows you to easily and efficiently solve signal, clock, connection, or other problems.
