AIR1 is a unique windshield for lavalier and headworn microphones with a patent-pending design that provides quick installation, highly effective and uniform wind protection, and unsurpassed acoustic transparency. AIR1 fits all miniature omnidirectional microphones from 2.5 to 5.8 mm (0.1 to 0.23 inches) in diameter.
Two layers of wind protection
The first layer of protection is a newly developed acoustic fur. Due to the type, length and density of the synthetic hair, the windbreak is significantly smaller than most other windbreaks without sacrificing wind rejection effectiveness.
The second layer of protection is the air space created in front of the microphone. Two sturdy arches keep the fur away from the microphone and maintain a constant volume of air. There is also a microphone stop that ensures the microphone is positioned at the most protected point of the windshield-the acoustic sweet spot.
Zweischichtiger Windschutz

Very easyto install and operate
The AIR1 is designed to be quick and easy to install, even in difficult weather conditions.
The hard plastic construction is rugged and the handles are sturdy and easy to use from the first time you use it to the last. The microphone can be easily inserted into the windshield thanks to a large opening, a sturdy latch and a microphone lock. This allows the microphone to be properly positioned in the acoustic sweetspot
How does AIR1 eliminate wind noise?
AIR1 has two different layers to keep the wind out.
The first layer is a newly developed acoustic fur. By fine-tuning hair length, hair material, fur density and inner lining, the fur achieves a high level of wind protection combined with excellent acoustic transparency. AIR1 achieves this with reduced visual impact because the fur is up to 30% shorter than other wind protection products on the market.
The second layer of protection is the air cavity in front of the microphone. AIR1 uses two sturdy brackets to keep the fur away from the microphone and maintain a constant air volume. In addition, a microphone stop ensures that the microphone remains in the most protected position within the windshield - the acoustic sweet spot.
No compromises when it comes to intelligibility
Acoustic transparency can be achieved through consistent positioning and the use of effective wind protection. It is in the nature of all acoustic shielding that there is some attenuation of certain frequencies. AIR1 has a built-in boundary layer that absorbs the attenuated frequencies, so the recorded audio is fully intelligible and sounds as if no windscreen had been used. (Without the distracting wind noise, of course.)
Keine Abstriche bei der Verständlichkeit
